As students, we saw from first hand experience that there was a lack of student and staff recognition, especially in regards to smaller sports and clubs. We also recognized that the students that are doing online schooling through Riverside are not as unified and connected with the students and staff in school. In attempt to tackle the two issues with one solution, we decided to create a student and staff recognition podcast! The podcast gives the school a platform to recognize and congratulate the students and staff on their achievements. In addition to being accessible by the students and staff online and in school, it will be accessible to parents and community members as well! Today’s episode we’re going behind the curtain of this year’s musical, Between The Lines. This episode is especially important to us because we are involved in the show. Ava is the stage manager and Lauren is the sound tech head. Putting on a musical takes months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration from the entire cast and crew, and today we’re getting an inside look at how it all comes together.
We’ll be talking with the director of the production to learn more about the vision for the show and the process of bringing it to life, backstage crew to learn what goes on behind the scenes during the show, and a few cast members to learn about moments from the show and rehearsals. From rehearsals to opening night, we’ll hear about the challenges, the memorable moments, and the dedication that goes into creating a performance like this.
